An emotional, shocking story! An infant born with an addiction experiences dark moods into adulthood. Negative thoughts make him become reclusive for several years. Constant reflection on past memories complicates his existence. He hides shocking secrets from his family as his distress takes him almost to the breaking point.

Author R.A. Merrill shares his experiences battling physical and emotional abuse. Suicidal for a time, he survived five suicide attempts as he experienced a feeling of “depersonalization” and detachment from reality. Eventually, he became addicted to the “buzzed feeling” that alcohol gave him, relying on this for 18 years to numb his pain. He struggled with treatment and a brush with the law resulting in a three-year probation sentence.

There were multiple attacks in school and tainted, strained relationships with beloved family members. He struggled to overcome the passing of close relatives. Devastated by the negative twists and turns of his life, trying to find peace of mind and heart remains problematic. An inner strength keeps him overcoming as he reflects on who he is and examines life through the eyes of one whose nonstop heartbreak nearly drove him to destruction. Holding on was finally rewarded when he found the life partner he needed.
